The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season promises to be a thrilling spectacle, featuring a revamped 36-team league phase format where each club plays eight different opponents—four at home and four away—replacing the traditional group stage. The top eight teams will advance directly to the Round of 16, while those ranked 9th to 24th will battle it out in a playoff round. The competition kicks off with qualifying rounds on 8 July 2025, the league phase begins on 16 September, and the grand final is set for 30 May 2026 at the iconic Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary. England leads the charge with a record six clubs—Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Europa League winners Tottenham—thanks to the Premier League’s top UEFA coefficient. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain return to defend their crown, while European heavyweights like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Inter Milan are all poised for deep runs. Tottenham’s return to the UCL is marked by their striking all-black away kit dubbed “In Darkness We Dare,” symbolizing their fearless re-entry into Europe’s elite. With a place in the 2026/27 UCL, the 2026 UEFA Super Cup, the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup on the line, this season is set to deliver high-stakes drama, unforgettable moments, and the rise of new legends. Already, clubs are preparing for this prestigious competition. Real Madrid have signed Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Obviously, as the 24/25 season has ended, clubs have released their new kits for the upcoming season. However, not all kits are official yet. Here are my reccommendations from a neutral perspective. Without further ado, here are the top 5 kits of the new season. 1. PSG home kit - 8/10. A nice red pattern with a complimentary blue backdrop. 2. Arsenal home kit - 7.5/10. Sleek red background with subtle A's on it. Adidas did a good job with this kit. 3. Chelsea away kit - a design that is clean and simplistic, 9/10. Now we are entering the best kit territory. 4. Inter Milan 3rd kit (10/10) - it might be older, but I made a mistake. Sorry. 5. Newcastle home kit - 11/10. Clean colours and a lovely design. Embed from Getty Images
